Mario Badescu- Enzyme Cleansing Gel

Lately I’ve noticed that my skin has been so dull and lacking radiance. For the life of me I can’t figure out what the problem is, so I decided I need new facial products. For the last 2 1/2 years I’ve been using Clinique’s 3-Step System in #4 along with my Clarisonic pretty consistently. I’m thinking my skin has become so accustomed to the product that it’s no longer working as it should.

During my weekly trip to Ulta (btw I really hate their customer service), I decided to try Mario Badescu’s product line. I’ve been debating whether or not to buy his products for a very very long time. I’ve visited his site numerous times, read almost every review, and even completed their skin evaluation that matches you with the right products for your skin. I’ve read from other bloggers once you complete the evaluation they’ll send you sample products. (I haven’t received anything yet, so I don’t know how true it is).

Well, I finally decided to make my purchase. I bought the Enzyme Cleansing Gel. I only got one item because I wanted to make sure I didn’t break out. After purchasing, I went home and immediately tested it out with my Clarisonic. This is not a cleanser that suds up and it was kinda weird at first, but I got use to it.

Product description:Our Best Selling Daily Cleanser. This non-foaming, gel cleanser thoroughly removes the day’s make-up, dirt and oil without drying the skin. Papaya and Grapefruit Extracts are exfoliating Alpha Hydroxy Acids that help prevent dulling build-up that can cause blackheads and pimples.

My Results:
-My skin feels smoother
– A week later still no breakouts.
– My skin feels clean
– No film left on my face

Contrary to reviews I’ve read on other sites, I wouldn’t say this is THE BEST cleanser and will become my holy grail, but it’s pretty good and it was only $12. I look forward to trying other Mario Badescu products to help get my skin glowing and summer ready.

  1. 1. I hate Ulta’s CS too. I was there this weekend, an associate walked right next to me and started fiddling with products in a bin. I asked her, “May I ask you a quick question?” She says, “Well, you can ask her. [and proceeds to point to a woman who was doing makeup on another woman]….well, is it quick?” I said, “All I need is you to direct me to the Bare Minerals Mineral Veil… she points to an entire wall of products and walks away saying, “It’s over there somewhere.” Really, b-word? Like, I looked over there, clearly because I’m standing right in front of that wall, and could not find it. You could have helped me. But I generally find that most employees aren’t as helpful as they used to be, even Sephora or other stores. Sigh.

    2. I’m going to try this line too, looking for something to help w/the ‘ashy-like’ appearance of my skin.

    3. Have you tried Philosophy? I love the Purity Made Simple face cleanser–gentle, and no breakouts.
