A couple weeks ago, I posted about purchasing the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel. Well after using it for almost a month, I realized it was doing absolutely nothing for my skin. I was so mad because I had read so many great things about this product and couldn’t understand why it wasn’t working for me. I was actually ready to give up on the brand. Luckily, while on the hunt for a new cleanser, I finally received my free samples from Mario Badescu specifically for Combination / Oily skin that were selected for me when I completed the online skin analysis.
In the sample pack I received:
• Mario Badescu Product Guide
• Guide on how to properly apply the products
•Botanical Facial Gel
•Special Cucumber Lotion
•Special Mask for Oily Skin
•Almond & Honey Non Abrasive Face Scrub
•Oil control moisturizer for Oily Skin
•Hydraulic Eye Cream
The samples lasted about 2-3 weeks and my skin absolutely LOVED them and my faith in Mario Badescu was restored! I would apply the Botanical Facial Gel with my Clarisonic Mia, then followed up with the Cucumber Lotion. Before applying the moisturizer, I applied Perricone MD’s Blue Plasma, then applied the Oil Control Moisturizer. My skin went from looking very dull to very health and I even felt comfy leaving the house without makeup.
I really wanted to like the face mask, scrub and the eye cream but they didn’t do much for me. The mask was ok and the scrub didn’t have enough scrubby particles in it (if that makes sense) for me. Then with the hydraulic eye cream I didn’t notice a difference at all.
I loved the Botanical Facial Gel and Cucumber Lotion so much that during a trip to NYC last weekend, I stopped at the Mario Badescu Skin Care Salon (which looked so relaxing) and picked up the full size products. I’m definitely going to that Spa during my next trip to the Big Apple. Btw, the total price for both full size bottles only came to $29 and change.
I’m so happy I was able to find the perfect products for my skin. What I learned from this experience and the Enzyme Cleansing Gel is that what works for everyone else’s skin may not work for mine even if it is a top selling product for the brand.
Here’s a pic of my face after the application of products before makeup. Please excuse the flexirods.
