Now that it has officially been a week since I purchased the new NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation (released August 2013) and Radiant Creamy Concealer (released March 2013), I can say I love them both. When I purchased these items, I wasn’t in the market for a new foundation or concealer, but I had read so many good reviews that I had to try them.
Foundation: Med/Dark 4 MACAO
Concealer: Med/Dark 3 AMANDE
I was a bit apprehensive at first because I’ve worn other cream foundations but they didn’t work for me because the cream was really thick and my skin didn’t feel like it could breathe. Once I saw this foundation and tried it on, my mind was changed. This foundation is so creamy, very lightweight, and buildable. My skin doesn’t feel uncomfortable and looks smooth. Another plus is that I only had to buy one color to match my skin tone. For example with MakeUp ForEver HD Foundation, I have to buy a #173 & #177 to get the exact color of my skin and the same goes for MAC. That easily adds up and my pockets hate it. The other great thing is that there are 20 different shades to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. Lastly, the foundation can be applied wet or dry. I haven’t applied it wet because the dry cream works just fine for me.
To be honest I really wasn’t expecting to love the concealer as much as I do. This is my first time purchasing a concealer other than MAC’s Studio Finish. This creamy concealer does a great job of covering the imperfections on my face and is so easy to blend using my fingers. After application, I set it with powder and it lasts all day.
The sales associate at Sephora also suggested I purchase a primer. I didn’t buy a one, but the good thing about Sephora is they give samples. The samples I tried are BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector and HOURGLASS Veil Mineral Primer. Of the two, I liked the Becca primer the best because it kept the oil away and my makeup lasted all day. The Hourglass primer didn’t help with my oily skin and I’m think it’s because mineral products don’t work well with my skin.
The only con I have about the Radiant Cream Compact is that you have to purchase the compact case separately. I wish they would have just come together, but I’m sure I’ll gather my $10 and purchase it eventually.
Overall, I really really love the NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation and the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I can definitely see myself hitting the pan on this foundation quickly.
I hope you enjoyed reading my review. If you have already purchased these items, let me know what you think.
