My apologies for not posting in months, but I’m back. Now the review!
So last month during my monthly (sometimes weekly) trip to Sephora, I decided to cash in 100 of my Beauty Insider points and try BECCA Cosmetics Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. I had read so many great things about this primer and I really wanted to see if it could keep my face oil-free all day. I not going to lie I was really skeptical about this product because there are so many on the market that claim to keep the oil away but by the time I go to lunch, my face is oily and the makeup is starting to melt off.
Here’s the description from the BECCA site: “Targeted oil-control primer that perfects and minimizes pores for mattified skin that lasts up to 12 hours.”
Directions: Primer can be worn alone or under foundation. To apply, warm a pea-sized amount in hands and pat onto specific areas of concern like the T-zone. Allow product to dry before following with makeup application. For touch-ups throughout the day, warm primer in hands and pat over makeup to target oily areas.
The first day I wore the primer I was HIGHLY impressed. I had a 14 hour day and I kid you not my makeup stayed in place all day. No touchups or anything. I honestly couldn’t believer it. My face was perfect. This product was too good to be true, so of course I continued to use it for 2 weeks to just to see how my skin would react and make sure it continued to work. well, guess what… IT DID and I didn’t get a single breakout. Again, I was so impressed.
When applying this product to your face, it is so important to work quickly because it dries very fast but it leaves your skin smooooooth. I would squeeze out a pea-sized amount, warm it up with my hands, and then pressed my face. I applied it all over my face, but I made sure to focus on my t-zone since it’s the oiliest part of my face. Learning that I had to warm the product was through trial and error and reading the directions. When I would apply the product to my face without warming it up, I noticed an ashy tint to my skin and certain areas of my face looked blotchy after applying foundation. If only I had read the directions a week earlier. LOL.
Overall, I absolute love this primer. Yes, it’s $36 but it’s worth every dollar. Especially on those after work happy hour days :). I’m so happy that Sephora offered this trial size. I hope you all try it out next time you’re in Sephora or check out the BECCA Cosmetics site.
Let me know your thoughts on this product if you already have it.
