If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready!

We’ve all had those days where we get a text message from a friend at 5:00 to meet up for happy hour at 6:00 with no time to go home. Usually when this happens two thoughts cross my mind: Is my outfit cute enough for happy hour? What am I going to do with this face?

Even if my outfit is not happy hour chic, my face always is thanks to these six staple items that I keep in my bag at all times. As my good friend tells me all the time,”If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready!”

1. A powder foundation
As much as I love liquid foundation, I never keep it in my purse because it’s too much of a hassle. I use a powder foundation instead. My foundation of choice is MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Powder. I love both of these products because they offer great coverage and can take my face from drab to fab in a matter of minutes.

2. Powder Bronzer
Who doesn’t like sunkissed skin? My bronzer of choice is Milani Cosmetics Baked Bronzer in Soleil. I will apply this on the apples of my cheeks or brush it on my entire face, depending on the look I’m going for. I love love love this bronzer because it has gold flecks it in and really gives my skin a nice glow.

3. Eyeliner
I apply a black or brown eyeliner to my waterline to play up my eyes. I have a love hate relationship with eyeliner. The hate is usually when it’s time to take it off before bed.

4. Mascara
I also have a love hate relationship with mascara, but it’s so necessary. My mascara of choice is Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real. When I apply this mascara, my naturally long lashes really pop. I even had a lady ask me where I get my lashes done.

5. Lipstick
I love a bold lipstick and feel naked without it. Two of my favorite lipsticks for happy hour are MAC Cosmetics Flat Out Fabulous or Ruby Woo. These colors are so fab and catch everyone’s attention.

6. Blush
Over the last few months I’ve really gotten into wearing blush. I like having that extra pop of color on my cheeks. My two faves are MAC Cosmetics Love Joy and Warm Soul, but I also use NARS Taj Mahal, Albratross, and Kevyn Aucoin’s Neolita quite often.
